Sauveterre-de-Béarn is a hilltop village overlooking the Gave d'Oloron. Its strategic position was well exploited in the Middle Ages to defend Béarn and medieval remains are still visible in the city. The view over the valley, crossed by the Gave, deserves a few shots.

In the south of Béarn des Gaves, Navarrenx is one of the “most beautiful villages in France”. It must be said that its military heritage and its fortifications are exceptional. This bastide of ancient Navarre has a long history to tell you. You will also take a nice walk there where you can admire the city from the top of its ramparts.
