      A bit of history

      Founded in the 11th century, Pau was the birthplace of Henry IV, King of France and Navarre. Its castle, the Château de Pau, is a must-see in the city and bears witness to its royal past between sea and mountains.

    It was a great half day trip. Getting to the upper part of the city by Funiculare is a great experience. Beautiful stroll along Boulevard des Pyrenées between Parc du Chateau and Parc Beaumont.
