I WANT TO DO OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

In this healthy fresh air, we did not come on holidays in the Béarn, to stay inside our guest house, did we?! (As charming as the room could be, check out our selection of B&B here)

Firstly, in Béarn, when we are bored, we take our skis. You do not like speed? No problem, take the short skis, they do not go fast and are easily manoeuvrable, perfect for the beginners who want to test the snow, have fun safely, or have a go at snow shoes or sledging. There is certain to be a place to your taste. Are you with your family? You need a ski resort with slopes adapted for beginners and also quite a lot of blue slopes... Such as La Pierre Saint-Martin for example. Are you crazy about alpine ski and you need a large skiing area? Let’s go to Gourette and its fabulous skiing area!

To carry on with the sport activities, try the Nordic ski in the ski-resort Issarbe. No, no, do not say that it is not like “real skiing”, it is a cool activity, that will please beginners for the fun side and the beauty of the landscapes to discover at a pleasant pace:) The Nordic ski is an endurance sport, the need to produce a regular paced movement, with very uneven paths and a good lot of aches at the end of the day! Come and try the Nordic ski!

The thrill seekers can get a paddle, a yellow jacket and go white water rafting!! The Béarn Rivers are waiting for you, safely overseen by professional instructors, enjoy a moment of pure pleasure. Check our selection of rafting clubs.

In the medium mountains, we can also try downhill mountain biking, all terrain scooter or simply hiking. The landscapes of Béarn are grandiose and are worth seeing. It is impossible to resist to the charm of Pays de Nayor Béarn des Gaves, where the rivers are the witness of frenzied sport fishing games.

Do you fancy a 4x4 tour? It is a perfect way to discover the Béarn landscapes. Comfortably installed, take safely off road all terrain trails. Have fun! Contrary to popular belief 4x4 trails adopt a quiet pace, it is not a frantic race around the countrywide! We are here to enjoy, admire and be amazed ... I AM HOLIDAYS WITH CHILDREN!

Super, they are going to have great holiday! For a start, take them to discover horse riding. A family horse riding session is a must in the Béarn. The Ecuries des Gaves, offer rides and training, in an animal and rider friendly way.

And if the weather is not nice, go to a soft play area. The kids (and their parents) love it. For example, Royal Kids, close to Pau in Lescar.

Take the kids to discover the fascinating world of vultures and mountain life, men and bird of preys! The Falaise aux Vautours, in Aste-Béonis 45 minutes from the south of Pau, is a well designed park/museum to interest, or rather...fascinate children (and their parents).

You are in Pau, and the afternoon is expected to be rainy and cold. Discover a fantastic games den! Laludikavern is a game shop and a cafewhere you can spend some great family time. Once you are seated at a cafe table, game enthusiasts are here to advise you, providing all sorts of board games and card games that you can buy at the shop to play at home later !

To find the future race car drivers spend the afternoon karting. Race against time or against others and learning how to control these vehicles safely! 10 minutes from Pau, the Karting Berdery is open all year and every day!

Finally, show everybody your Sherlock Holmes talent and try an Escape Game’s adventure. These new strategic and thinking games, need to be solved in less than 60 minutes, to unlock the room you are in!
