    • A family campsite where life is good

Located at the foot of the medieval town of Sauveterre de Béarn, on the edge of the Gave d'Oloron, we would be delighted to welcome you to our campsite where the family spirit, friendliness and calm are very present. In a green, natural setting, lulled by the sound of the river, you can swim, fish for trout and salmon.

You will be able to discover the legendary bridge, the Monréal tower, the Saint André church, the town hall, the esplanade with a view of the Pyrenees and walk on the island of Glère. Within 1 hour you can visit different typical villages such as Salies de Béarn, Navarrenx, Orthez, Pau, St Jean Pied de Port, Espelette, Ainhoa, the Bastide Clairence, discover the valleys of Ossau and Aspe, the gorges from Kakuetta, the Holzarté footbridge, the ski resorts of Pierre st Martin, Gourette and Artouste, enjoy the beaches of St Jean de Luz, Biarritz, Capbreton or Seignosse.

Or simply, stay at the campsite and enjoy the surroundings.

Firstly, just to reiterate, our enjoyment of a campsite ALWAYS depends on the owners. When you come through that gate it's your home for the duration. If you don't feel welcome the best site in the world is a nightmare. Lovely owners, Frankie is so welcoming and will do his best to communicate in English (badly) and Spanish (badly) but still better than my French and it works with a smile Very laid back Site is in a fabulous location, right next to the town with a visiting pizza van, which is worth noting as they were the best pizzas we have had for years. It us very well kept, France works hard keeping it in shape, with all the facilities including a basic bar and laundromat. The loos are basic but clean and have seats, the cassette toilet emptying works well. The pitches are a decent size with hedges bordering them, although not high enough to ensure privacy. The showers don't seen to be heated so in early spring possibly a tad cold but that's not 100% sure. In October they are fine and seem to be pretty new, certainly far better than the vast majority in France. Good dog walks Not expensive and really can't find fault with it, one of our favourite sites in France.

Lovely campsite by the river. Slightly shallow for swimming but good for the dogs to cool off. Very short walk into the town. Two boulangeries and great views by the church. Market for foodstuffs on Saturday morning. Delicious watermelon purchased. Excellent croissants from the smaller bakery in the side street. Delightful couple running the site - sanitaires impeccably clean. Superb showers. What’s not to love. Ace.
