- Built in 1373 by Gaston III of Foix-Béarn (known as “Gaston Fébus”) , the Château de Morlanne is one of the finest examples of Fébusian construction on the borders of Landes and Béarn. Its stone and brick architecture makes it an atypical medieval fortress, testifying to the clever processes of its Languedoc architect Sicard de Lordat. Site protected as Historic Monuments. More than 200 works classified or registered as Historic Monuments.
  
  Inside, 5 exhibition rooms present the restoration of the site and the collection of art objects bequeathed by Hélène and Raymond Ritter, the last private owners who made the castle their home until 2003 .
  
  The castle has a park with free access all year round. Free audio tour “In the Times of Fébus” with open access.
  Access to the keep and the curtain wall.

Beautiful château to visit specially when it is closed. Take your food with you and your drinks. There are lunch table where you can sit, eat and drink for free. It is better when it is not crowded. The village right next to the chateau is so cute, worths the walk.

The visit is very interesting. All the multimedia used during the tour makes it instructional and interesting. To use old letters to tell the story creayes a sense of intimacy and connection. The view from the top is amazing. The gardens all around are very pretty and very well maintained.

Beautifully restored. Ideal setting in a lovely village. Interesting 8 min film worth seeing. Helpful staff. Lovely.

Interesting Castle Tour, Affordable Award, we came across the Medieval Weekend with Many Things to do but the Award is more expensive during these 2 days

Very beautiful castle externally but the soul of the castle and the Ritter spouses who renovated it was destroyed to make it a cold and charmless museum. The renovation ruined everything.it is better...
