Morlanne Towns, Villages and Bastides in Morlanne

Morlanne is a medieval village that is now a thousand years old. Its origins date back to feudalism, but it was not until the Hundred Years War, and when Gaston Fébus chose Morlanne as a defensive bastion (because the English are very close to Arzacq) that the village was built.
The village is then made up of two agglomerations: one around the castle, the "castetbieilh", and the other around the church. Gaston Fébus will erect the quarry of the Castle in order to control the census of the population. This part of the village is then called the "castelnau". He will fortify the village as well as the church, which will be an integral part of the defense of the village.
The village is not lacking in wealth! A brochure will take you to discover the 14th century fortified castle, the main street characterized by its typical construction of new towns in the Middle Ages (also called "carrère"), washhouse fountains, the 13th century fortified church , as well as the Belluix house (built at the end of the 15th beginning of the 16th century).
