Since 1950, the Matocq cheese dairy has been manufacturing, refining and marketing its products in the purest tradition. It all began when Jean Matocq built the first drying rooms in his old Béarnaise farm to refine farmhouse cheeses and sell them on the surrounding markets. Later, a small dairy was created where all the specialties were developed.

Today, the Matocq cheese dairy offers a complete range of Pyrenean cheeses made in the Haut Béarn and in the heart of the Basque Country. The maturing process continues in the cellars of the Matocq cheese dairy located in Asson at the foot of the Col du Soulor in accordance with ancestral traditions.

The milk from these sheep makes it possible to offer a generous range of dairy and farmhouse cheeses, capable of delighting the most demanding palates!

The Matocq cheese dairy, deeply rooted in its terroir, offers a cheese with an exceptional taste, the flagship of the range: Ossau-Iraty. Since 1980, it has been part of the prestigious family of Appellations d'Origine Contrôlées.
